libparmetis3.1 software package provides Parallel Graph Partitioning and Sparse Matrix Ordering Shared Libs, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libparmetis3.1
libparmetis3.1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libparmetis3.1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libparmetis3.1 *
You will get with libparmetis3.1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
